Jurassic World
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Jurassic World is a 4 star movie)
the movie’s real focus is on claire and owen, who also have some issues in the chemistry department — particularly in their first scene together, a sequence that invoked joss whedon’s online ire when it was released as a sneak peek. it’s an awkward and uncomfortable scene built upon some outdated gender archetypes; pratt projecting would-be machismo without his usual wink, and howard committing to claire’s ocd stuffiness to such a degree that she’s almost robotic. from there, the film starts walking down a very uncomfortable path, complete with rote jokes about wearing high heels in the jungle, but as the action picks up, both characters thaw. by the time claire becomes a formidable hero of her own, it becomes apparent that trevorrow is tweaking the stereotypes he put into place, subverting them in the same way the film’s theme of corporate excess goes after the hand that funded it. jurassic world is a self-aware blockbuster, the latest in a growing trend that includes films like the lego movie and the avengers, and it’s a welcome change — except for when it gets in its own way. laying out a thinly veiled critique of the blockbuster mentality is clever, but here it’s so on-point it pulls you out of the movie, detracting from the action ride that is truly at the movie’s heart. similar issues befall the film’s characterization of claire: the movie may be trying to set up and knock down an antiquated cinematic stereotype, but if the execution is so clunky that the audience is put off by its first impressions, there’s not much left to work with.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a 5 star movie)
first things first. kangana ranaut has done a fabulous job with her characters tanu and datto. tanu hasn't lost her weird, irresponsible and audacious ways, datto is a sincere, young girl, a fiercely independent one, who takes up responsibilities. from the body languages of the two women to their accents, kangana aces it to the t. she proves yet again that she is one of the few heroines in bollywood who is willing to experiment with different roles and still come out as the most convincing every time. ...

Bombay Velvet
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Bombay Velvet is a 5 star movie)
it's 1969 in a bombay of prohibition but no inhibition, with money in the sea breeze, land sharks cutting deals and gangsters carving up competition. ambitious johnny balraj (ranbir), dreaming of becoming a big shot, is used by ruthless magnate kaizaad khambata (karan) to fix business and settle scores. johnny adores jazz singer rosie (anushka) and with buddy chiman (satyadeep), manages kaizaad's bombay velvet nightclub where rosie performs. what happens when rosie turns out to be a pawn of jimmy mistry (manish), khambata's foe? and when the mayor of bombay (siddharth) decides johnny's getting in his way? bombay velvet is one of the most stylish-looking hindi films, its glowing cinematography and sharp detailing presenting a heady, greedy city, full of nightmares and dreams. its performances create an eye-catching vintage world - where ranbir kapoor smashes it as a raj kapoor-like johnny balraj. ranbir's melting eyes and goofy grin stay with you, as does his supple energy and suddenly steely jaw. anushka impresses as rosie, her wide-eyed, brittle sadness evoking audre.the drama's further enhanced by fabulous sound design, gorgeous jazz layered pulsatingly onto scenes of violence and love. but bombay velvet has rough edges too. the film is so intensely stylized, it misses emotional pull. certain sequences - like johnny's prize-fighting - feel stretched. at times, the editing simply races, without letting you feel anything, from khambata's jeers to rosie's tears, deeply enough.

Phir Se...
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Phir Se... is a 4 star movie)
kunal kohli has been into film-making from sometime but still in my opinion other than "hum tum" he has not made any good films. most of his movies very pretty boring and repetitive. he is making his acting debut by the movie "phir se". i think it's a little bit late to make a acting debut as a lead actor in mid 40's unless and until script has something strong, which does n't seems the case with "phir se". the movie is looking almost soulless. it seems that the film is shot mostly in aboard and auspicious locations. personally i feel just good locations cannot a good film just like having all the ingredients in not enough to make a delicious dish. the tagline of the movie "i am not 40, i am 18 with 22 years experience" makes nonsense at all.the real age cannot be hided by experience.the story line of the film feels almost like a blur.content could be a problem for this film. it doesn't look like the movie has much to offer.the movie trailer was released more than 2 weeks back and it is about to touch 4 lakh mark on youtube. i must say as per the views of the film, it doesn't looks like people are interested in watching this film."phir se" is considered to be a romantic film which is favorite genre for kunal kohli. in my opinion this genre is not gonna help the film.

Kuch Kuch Locha Hai
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Kuch Kuch Locha Hai is a 4 star movie)
you either have a sense of humour or you don't. if you try too hard to sound funny, it never works and that's the case here. if you put together done to death gujju, italian and gay people stereotypes, you get kuch kuch locha hai. also, since sunny leone and evelyn sharma have been roped in, some serious skin show is guaranteed. however, despite the addition of these so-called crowd-pulling tactics, the jaded film fails to keep you awake, let alone entertain, as it lacks a decent story and fails on multiple grounds. after all, the concept of young people dressing up as oldies is no longer funny or probably works in plays better. nyc one

Piku
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Piku is a 4 star movie)
straight up, piku is delightful, a cinematic rasgulla, dipped in the sweet, dark rum of life. architect piku banerjee (deepika) is only child to 70-year-old bhaskor (amitabh) who obsesses about his health - including creating commotion around his stomach's motion. piku's torn between tenderness for her elderly dad and frustration at being stuck in a rut. suddenly, bhaskor wants to visit calcutta - but insists on travelling from delhi via road. what happens when intriguing rana (irrfan) drives them? piku's performances are superb, topped by one of amitabh bachchan's best acts. amitabh is mesmerizing as bhaskor, a man who delights in being "brutal and honest", but whose eyes are soft as marshmallows when he looks at his daughter. bubbling with life, pouring with over-protectiveness, amitabh runs away with the film, travelling with a 'commode chair', stating indian men want wives only "to sarve food in the day, sex in the night", interrogating rana, "drinking? driving? sipping? taar pore, dhadaam?", telling his bubbly sister-in-law chobi (moushumi, lovely and bright), "tumko like na karne ka, mere paas hai, hai, reason hai." from angry young man to eccentric old gent, piku is another milestone in this amazing actor's journey. alongside, irrfan's rana has a wide-eyed, raised-eyebrow sexiness, but also sensitive balance between being annoyed and intrigued by piku - and her mad dad. deepika presents an evolved, polished performance, utterly believable as piku uptight with pursed lips, whose life expands from reading her dad's bp - to reading rana's eyes.

Ishq Ke Parindey
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Ishq Ke Parindey is a 5 star movie)
it's a love at first sight for lucknow boy faiz (rishi verma), an aspiring lawyer who is drawn to karachi girl sheen (priyanka mehta) for her inner and outer beauty. sheen too falls for faiz but their relationship gets strained, when sheen discovers that faiz's brother is a criminal. coming back to the story, the couple's relationship suffers after sheen witnesses a few goons killing a man at a restaurant. she soon discovers that they happen to be faiz's brother's henchmen. having lost half her family to gang wars, she decides to distance herself from faiz as a way to condemn violence. faiz tries to convince her that he is not like his brother. can the two bury their differences and get together? while the lead actors are decent, the supporting actors ham away to glory - villains in particular. also, the climax seems a tad too simplistic and abrupt compared to the steady build-up....dialogue r fne in the movie .....

Solid Patels
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Solid Patels is a 4 star movie)
solid patels is a joyful comedy targeting all age groups, endeavouring to be a clean simple film on the lines of hrishikesh mukherji’s school of drama and story-telling, and has all those moments and dialogues that will put the audience in splits, and they will walk out from the theatres with a broad smile.. tom patel & jerry patel! these patel boys are no less than real life animated characters themselves! they live together in a rented apartment in mumbai, and have no specific jobs. both are mostly directionless, and their only hope in life is optimism.

Margarita With A Straw
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Margarita With A Straw is a 4 star movie)
with a straw”, there is a scene towards the end where the unraveling of a relationship is captured faithfully by the camera – there are accusations of betrayal, tears over what could have been, and frantic declarations of love. it is to bose’s credit that in spite of the fact that it involves two women who are both disabled, she treats it in the same way that most films would treat a scene of this nature involving a heterosexual, abled couple. protagonist laila may have cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects motor functions, but that is the least of the film’s focus – at least in the beginning. she is like any normal teenager, developing crushes on rock-star classmates, dealing with heartaches and surfing for erotica on the internet when her whole family is asleep. when she moves to new york to study and meets fiery activist khanum, laila realizes that she not only has to contend with her physical condition, but also has to come to terms with her sexual identity. the first half of the film, which bose uses to set up her characters and their environment, drags on for a while, only to pick up post-interval. that might sound like a good thing, but in her eagerness to introduce some drama in laila’s life, bose injects too many contrivances and conflicts in the plot. the illness of a loved one, the conflict over her sexuality, the disability of another friend – they all crowd the goings-on in the second half of the film and weighs it down. it is almost as if the film-maker wants to extract every bit of sympathy for her character, something she consciously avoided in the beginning of the film. despite the heartfelt performances, especially by revathy (who plays laila’s feisty mother), the film strikes many a false note. only kalki koechlin salvages the film in these moments with her understated and sensitive portrayal of a girl who is unabashed about her sexuality and unafraid to explore it. she embodies laila, and therefore makes her story believable.

Gabbar Is Back
(According to Sukhmeet Kour Gabbar Is Back is a 5 star movie)
whats gud:gabbar is back actually lives up to the line ‘naam se villain, kaam se hero’ and manages to give a new angle to the most dreaded villain gabbar. the film is a complete entertainer filled with punchlines, action and an absolutely hot akshay kumar. what’s bad: it is a mindless entertainer and hence you have to let go the loop-holed story. also, being a official remake of the tamil film ramanaa and coming from a director from down south, the film making is completely southern and you may need to shut your ears if the background sound goes all harsh. its really nyc movie pls watch this movie
