another mind-blowing historical love story by ashutosh govarikar. it features hritik roshan and pooja hedge in lead role. a. r. rehman again have done a nice job with music. kabir bedi as villian have given a loyal performance.
the film open with the year 2016 bc. the youth from villege amri have lots of attraction towards mohenjo daro which was a mega town of the period. hritik is one of the such young boys from villege who is brave. he later goes to mohenjo daro and feels that he is somehow connected to the city. there he falls in love with priest's daughter. later the story reveals secrets of actors connection with mohenjo daro. though you can always guess a stroy line from starting but what attracts you towards the story is sets, their performances , dialougue delivery and the maestro's music.

plot is simple. a farmer from amri, sindh name sarman (hritihik roshan ) travels upriver to the largest city, mohenjodaro, where during a street mishaphe saves the life of a beautiful woman named chaani (pooja hegde)

it breaks my heart to say this because so much talent and sweat is involved but mohenja daro is a mess.it has ambition and scale.
it also has the industrial strength sincerity of hrithik roshan who pours his soul into every scene.but the burden of earrying this leaden cartoon like narrative proves too much even for this herculean shoulders.at best the film works as unintentional comedy. if you had to recreate an ancient civilisation, what would you do? if you are ashutosh gowariker, and have had lots of experience in excavating the past (lagaan, jodhaa akbar), you would scale it up. instead of a few hundred years, you would go back a couple of thousands, ditching the merely old for the seriously antique.
mohenjo daro, set in mohenjo-daro of the indus valley civilisation, is bigger but certainly not better than these two gowariker’s earlier outings. the sepia tone of the earth and the dwellings is balanced by an array of costumery: everyone looks like they have been handed out unstructured earth-toned garments, which follow the latest fashion du jour. and lest you thought they were not accessorised to the hilt in 2016 bc, perish it: the villainous chief wears a headgear of horns (the happily hamming kabir bedi, who carries it off with a raffish air) to an alarmingly tall crown of what looks like feathers, coins and shells sported by the leading lady (the debutant pooja hegde, who looks much better without, and may fare better in her next)., Posted By : Dinesh Middal On 13 Aug 2016 |

i am a hard core fan of hrithik but i didn't watch the film yet but the trailer and teaser are awesome and the story looks quite good and heroine looks beautifull and acting of both hero and heroine is awesome so i recommend you to watch the movie
