Very Good Very Good
throughout the movie, adi (aditya roy kapur) and tara (shraddha kapoor) seem to be running after trains or buses in motion, barely getting in before it’s too late - a great metaphor for the love lives of people of today’s generation. adi is a video game developer with the american dream; tara is an architect, destined for paris. but they lock eyes at a wedding and all their plans go out of the window. they flirt, take a trip together, move in and decide to date for as long as they’re both in mumbai. the thing that works most in ok jaanu’s favour is its screenplay, kept intact from its tamil predecessor. it is a scene-for-scene remake and capitalizes on great moments from the original film. the music (largely retained) with gulzar’s new lyrics also does a throwback to ok kanmani in the best way possible.

Time Pass Time Pass
mani ratnam once again proves what a genius he is. the way he showcases such a simple story in quite a breezy way is splendid. nithya menen is a power house of talent and is superb in her role. she looks gorgeous and brings in a whole lot of depth to the film. prakash raj is very good in a supporting role and brings a balance to the film. yet another asset of the film is the sizzling chemistry between nithya and dulquer. there is some magic between the couple which comes on screen and makes up for some beautiful moments.

Super Hit Super Hit
the couple of 'aashiqui 2' now again together in 'ok jannu'. my expectation from them are quite high. the movie ok jannu is simple ok type movie. movie is all about commitment of relationship. today's generation don't want to commit in their relationship for some sort of reasons so that's why all people are adopting live in same shows in movie. seriously on some point movie was slow but the acting is good. my expectation after ashiqui 2 on high level but it couldn't upto my expectation. its simple movie nice acting done by all stars.

ok jaanu was adapted from tamil hit ok kanmani (2015),shaad ali's ok jaanu seems at least 20years too late to be considered timley....aditya roy kapur and shraddha kapoor fail to cumulatively construct a single expression to convey any emotion .....the film opens to aditya roy kapoor.directed by shaad ali,who has previously remade mani ratnam's alaipayuthey as the much loved saathiya retelling story in another language means being sensitive to the nuances of the recipient language as not everything will translate previously.

music and romance, natural sceneries and comedy are quite entertaining. the film is a must see and will definitely be liked by youth and students apart from attracting audience of all ages. thefilm does not make you boring even for a single minute and the story is common infatuation among adults and it will certainly turn out to be a blockbuster movie and a record box office hit. please book in advance to have fun with your entire family.

ok jaanu hits the screens a bit too late in the day. the theme of commitment phobia itself feels as fresh as an over-gnawed chewing gum. on top of that, if, like yours truly, you have already seen the mani ratnam original, o kadhal kanmani, then the hindi remake plays out way too dull and dreary in comparison, lacking in the vital spark and passion. much of the charm of the original (too lightweight to be in anyone’s best of ratnam list anyhow) was in the pair of lovers — played by dulquer salman and nithya menon — scintillating together as well as on their own, making you believe in the life-altering ways of love. kapur and kapoor, however, are eminently lacklustre. director shaad ali began his innings as a director with another ratnam remake — saathiya, based on alaipayuthey. that held its own because rani mukherjee and vivek oberoi made the film their own without quite taking on the baggage of the predecessor. no such luck for ali this time. ok jaanu feels like an update on saathiya. and it’s not just to do with the mumbai setting or the love blossoming in local trains. there it was all about making a young marriage work, here it is about eventually embracing marriage after living together in sin. it is all about opting for a life together even while pursuing separate dreams. and in both the films these life lessons come through an older couple — srk and tabu there and in this case the much older naseeruddin shah and leela samson in whose house the couple lives-in. as for the film holding up marriage as a norm, as the right thing to do, well that’s another debate altogether. in remaking the original, ali brings little that is new to the screen. the mumbai setting, scenes, dialogue, camera placements and angles, even the colour palette and production design seem have been reproduced verbatim. the names of the couple — adi and tara — their occupation, ie, video game developing and architecture, their family histories and background, their idols zuckerbeg and balkrishna doshi, their dreams of going to the us and paris — all is as it was. right down to the way the sun rays fall on the faces of the lovers in one scene in the local, the carroty glow it lights them up with, it all harks back to the original. why they even greet each other with the same odd oye of dulquer and nithya. every little moment hits you with dã©jã  vu. a few things do change; hindustani classical music concert replaces the kutcheri. the new gaming visuals in opening credits feel fresh. but not every change is necessarily for the better. the insertion of the remixed humma humma, for instance. the couple of things that work here are kitu gidwani’s (who plays tara’s mom) gorgeous saris and the presence of naseeruddin shah. he charms, holds your attention just by being himself, by effortlessly inhabiting the frames. wish there was some more of him.
