there is much in haider that deserves a standing ovation, definitely. the movie is problematic and far too long, but also thrillingly ambitious and powerful. the action takes place. this movie is shot entirely in kashmir. irrfan khan, playing a militant rahoodaar brings and unflashy competence to the story, one of the toughest roles in literature. it is inspired by shakespeare's hamlet. it got every element of a good movie which make viewer very excited and interesting. the movie is set in 1995 in kashmir. it is the story of a son, father, mother, uncle and life in kashmir in 1995. i like it very much because it shows us what really happened in that period and people get affected by the dirty indian politics. shahid kappor, kk menon and taboo ha done their work decently but the work of director or music director vishal; bhardwaj is exceptional especially the song 'are aao na ke jaan gayi' and the graveard. art direction is fantastic as well as gulzar lyrics touch you as always. this is real cinema and i am thankful to vishal bhardwaj for this movie.
